Overview/description

.......what is this core competency referring to? Describe how it links in with the Digiteen Area of Awareness

The article is about people try to make money from other people by taking kid's social security numbers. This connects to my core competency because the people who are the victims should keep their social security numbers in a secure place This connects with the Individual Awareness because the things that people are stealing are the kid's individual stuff. The privacy core competency in digital citizenship means that if you have digital citizenship you would respect other people's privacy on the web.

Examples

.....Provide real examples from your school, country or from your research of how this norm and the Digiteen element impact on each other. These can be in the form of an image with text, a podcast, a short video, interviews etc.
People are stealing kid's social security numbers to get money from other people and they are offered a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. It is an invisible crime. The people taking the kids' social security numbers might hopefully be caught and the victims will never have to worry about ever getting their social security numbers stolen from them again. Bill Draper is talking about what is now happening with people taking social security numbers from other people. This article connects with digital citizenship because it is something someone would know on their own.
